Double Poultry Nest Box - with removable divider.

A high-quality nesting/laying box that will provide a dry and safe area for your hens to lay their eggs. The liftable roof provides easy access to eggs. This item requires assembly but is simple to put together. For larger then usual chooks, the divider can be removed to make one larger box if desired.

While the timber of these boxes is treated with same weatherproofing as our other timber poultry coops it's still not recommended to place these outdoors without any shelter since rain can get still get inside these boxes with protection from the rain.

Nest Box Placement: It's best to put your poultry nest box in a raised and secure place in your poultry coop at around 50 to 150 cm high. This helps discourage hens from eating their eggs and is generally preferred by laying hens. If you do elevate your poultry nest box, be sure to provide steps or a ramp that will allow your chooks access to this nest box. Also, your ramp will need some tread so that your chickens do not slip.

External Dimensions - 62 W x 29 D x 41 cm H

This item comes flat packed and requires assembly.

Questions & Answers:

Q. Do you sell Quadruple Poultry Nest Boxes?

A. Unfortunately, these boxes only come in singles or doubles.

Q. What sort of timber are these poultry nest boxes made from and what are they treated with? Also wondering where the material is sourced from?

A. These nest boxes are made from Chinese Fir timber (a kind of timber which is plentiful in China) which according to the manufacturer is treated with a water-based eco-friendly lacquer.

Q. Is it possible to reverse the lid/roof so it lifts up from the opposite side?

A. After calling the Enfield store I was told the following. You would have to drill some new holes into the wood to get the screws through, but yes, I imagine you can get it backwards.
