While the timber of these boxes is treated with same weatherproofing as our other timber poultry coops its still not recommended to place these outdoors without any shelter since rain can get still get inside these boxes with protection from the rain.

Nest Box Placement - Its best to put your poultry nest box in a raised and secure place in your poultry coop at around 50 to 150 cm high. This helps discourage hens from eating their eggs and is generally preferred by laying hens. If you do elevate your poultry nest box, be sure to provide steps or a ramp that will allow your chooks access to this nest box. Also your ramp will need some tread so that you chickens do not slip.
