A. Only our Isa Brown laying hens are pure breeds and all our other poultry are cross breeds. Generally speaking cross breeds make better egg layers as they are bred specially for egg laying (Isa Browns are the rare exception to this rule). Pure breeds are usually bred more for aesthetics and competing at shows and are not usually prolific egg layers.
Q. Do you retire old chooks? Or know anyone that does?
A. The Enfield store can usually accommodate 1 to 3 chooks at a time which they can re-home, but it's best to call them on 02 97475713 to confirm if its possible.

Our Isa brown baby chicks / chickens are normally between 1 and 7 days old and are quite a placid breed and well suited to young children. They they are renown as excellent egg layers.
Brooders for poultry, birds and other animals. Ideal for keeping young chickens, ducks and other poultry warm until they can generate their own body heat. The warm environment of a brooder can also be used to care for baby parrots while they are young or help sick birds and animals recover from illness.
Silkies for Sale! Silkies are quite compliant and docile birds and despite their soft delicate appearance are reasonably robust. The birds can be tamed and are often regarded by their owners as a real pet.
Chickens for Sale - Australorps are normally around 17 weeks of age, but age does vary. Australorps can take longer to begin laying eggs at about 26 to 28 weeks compared to the quicker Isa Brown's at 22 weeks.
