Mushroom & Herb Kit is a self-contained, do-it-yourself kit that allows buyers to grow fresh, tasty herbs and mushrooms at home. The kit is first used like a traditional mushroom kit with the mushrooms grown in a moderate and protected environment. But then, once the mushrooms have ceased growing, the buyer sows the supplied herb seeds in the nutrient-rich mushroom compost and the waxed-coated box is moved outside where the herbs grow – until ready for harvest. The Mushroom & Herb kit is a quality product that stands alone in the market for versatility as it produces mushrooms, and then herbs, for many months. The Mushroom and Herb Kit contains:
The mushroom and herb kit contains
- Waxed coated box
- White Button Mushroom compost.
- Peat.
- Seeds packet – one of: basil, parsley, coriander or spinach.
- Fertiliser.
- Instructions.
Our kits contain everything you need, except the water. The mushroom compost has already been prepared and inoculated with the mushroom mycelium (the fungus). All you need to do is add water and wait for the mushrooms to grow. The first mushrooms are usually ready to be picked within 3-5 weeks of starting the kit. Enjoy!
The white button mushroom is the most widely grown mushroom in Australia. The caps of the mushrooms in the button stage are usually 25mm – 75 mm in diameter, but if left to mature and open the caps can reach a size of 100mm – 175mm in diameter.
This mushroom variety can be prepared in many different ways, which makes it very popular. Our kits grow mushrooms with ease and are very productive. Crops grow back every 10-14 days until the mushroom kit uses up all its nutrients. Approximately 1.5kg of mushrooms grow in our kit during the 3 months period of time.
