Wormcasts
Wormcasts, also known as worm castings or Vermicast are a renown and prized natural fertiliser. They are the droppings of earthworms that help improve the soil by providing essential nutrients and beneficial microbes and enhancing water retention and other benefits.
Wormcasts are typically higher in minerals than standard manure. This includes minerals such as nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, boron, silica and sulfur, etc.
Typical Mineral/Nutrient Content Range for Wormcasts: Nitrogen (N) 1.0 – 2.0%, Phosphorus (P₂O₅) 0.5 – 1.5%, Potassium (K₂O) 0.5 – 2.0%, Calcium (Ca) 1.0 – 2.0%, Magnesium (Mg) 0.2 – 0.6%, Sulfur (S) 0.2 – 0.4%, Iron (Fe) 0.5 – 2.0 g/kg, Manganese (Mn) 100 – 500 mg/kg, Zinc (Zn) 50 – 200 mg/kg, Copper (Cu) 10 – 100 mg/kg, Boron (B) 10 – 30 mg/kg, Sodium (Na) 0.1 – 0.3%.
Superworm Casting Fertiliser is produced from the droppings of Zophobas Morio, also known as Superworms. It provides a range of nutrients while also boosting the immune system of plants through its natural polymer called Chitin. Chitin works by encouraging the growth of beneficial microbes and bacteria that attack harmful plant nematodes and fungus.
Vasili's Choice Superfood Organic Fertiliser is produced from soldier fly larvae frass which is the natural byproduct of the soldier fly's larvae stage. It has many of the same benefits as superworm castings and also includes Chitin.
