Herb Seed Selection :

Basil Cinnamon (S) - An attractive plant with olive green foliage and purple stems. Leaves have a sweet cinnamon scent. The plants can also be used as ornamentals in the garden.

Basil Gourmet Mix (S) - A collection of attractive, easy-to-grow, aromatic and flavour-filled basil varieties

Basil Minette (S) - Compact, fine leafed plant that keeps it's neat growth habit all season long. Good spicy flavour.

Basil Purple (S) - Abundant bunches of deep purple leaves with a rich fragrance. This annual herb looks attractive and has a sweet, spicy flavour that complements many dishes

Basil 'Gourmet Mix':

An attractive culinary collection of Basil varieties including Thai Basil, Lemon Basil, Cinnamon Basil and Purple Basil for colour. Great for potager gardens and pots.

Position: Full sun.

Sow: Direct into the garden or in pots. Cover with Yates Seed Raising Mix, firm down and keep moist. Thin out to 20cm apart.

Care: Plant in full sun in a well-drained soil. Water regularly. Frequent picking ensures continuous supply and keeps the plants bushy. Can also be grown indoors in pots. Protect from snails with Yates Blitzem. Remove flower stems to prolong the life of the plant. Mature plants can be cut and dried for winter use.

Sow:Direct into garden. Cover with Yates Seed Raising Mix, firm down and keep moist. Thin later to 20cm apart.

Care: Grow in full sun but protected from wind. Good drainage is essential. Apply Yates Thrive Soluble Fertiliser every 4 weeks. Use leaves finely chopped in soups, salads, egg, fish and meat dishes. Seeds can be used like the leaves, and also in cakes and breads. If left to flower, Dill will attract many garden-friendly insects that control aphids. Protect from snails with Yates Blitzem.

Lemon Balm:
