A. Yes, a dog crate would be fine for this purpose.

Q. Can these dog crates be used with a divider and crate mat at the same time?

A. Yes, a divider and crate mat can be used at the same time. I did test this for a large crate and it did work. It was a tight fit and the divider does press down on the mat but it works well nonetheless.
