Rabbit Care Tips:

Diet - Good quality hay is essential to a rabbits diet and should make up about 70% of their diet. The high-fiber roughage is very important to your pets intestinal health and is not fattening making it an ideal food for most rabbits especially pet bunnies. The chewing of hay also helps worn down your pets teeth in a natural way and provides activity during times of boredom. Some examples of recommened hay are timothy hay, oaten hay and lucerne hay. Do not not use straw hay as feed since it lacks the required nutrition but it can be used as bedding. Rabbits also need to be feed a good quality rabbit pellet with a variety of greens and vegetables. Also a constant clean and fresh water supply is a must. Some examples of greens that can be fed include, dandelion, chickweed, white clover, alfa alfa, plantain, daisy. Some vegetables include carrots and tops, fennel, wild celery, broccoli, cucumber, squash, zucchini, parsnips.
