Breed: Muscovy Ducklings for sale.      Price -    $10.
Appearance: Muscovies are easily distinguished from other breeds by their red facial skin. If your duck has a red face, it’s probably a Muscovy Duck. This red skin can be quite bumpy, exaggerated, with a knob on top of the bill and lumps all over. The wild type plumage of muscovy is all black, glossy greenish on the back, and with large white wing patches. But, because of our fondness for white, domestic muscovies can be pure white, all black, or any degree of pied black-and-white.
Male Muscovies are considerably larger than females. Large males weigh as much as eight kilos and females weigh approximately half as much. Females generally make the best pets. Muscovy Ducklings are generally mostly yellow with some brown but can grow to become white, black or a combination of the two colours as adult ducks.
Others:Â Pekin Ducks.
Age:Â Normally between 1 day to 14 days old. (sometimes older)
Sex: These ducks are too young to distinguish between males and females. So we are not able to provide specifically male or female baby ducks.Â
Ducks in general are very energetic and sociable birds, so its highly recommended that ducklings are kept in at least pairs or in bigger groups. It is difficult to tell males and females apart before 8 weeks of age. So if you want a pair you might have to get 3-4 ducklings and with a bit of luck you will have a pair. Ducks can are more suited to a green and grassy backyard.
Availability:Â Â Ducks are generally difficult to find so its recommended to call in advance before arriving in-store and ideally to pre-order your birds so we can call you when they come in. During Winter many breeders slow down or stop breeding altogether, so its a good idea to get your birds before and after this period.
Duckling Temperature Control:Â Baby ducks will require a continuous artificial heat source like a heat lamp or globe lamp to help maintain body heat for the first 3 to 4 weeks of life. During hot weather conditions, the heating can be reduced to only at night time. Whatever heating source is used it must be one that the ducklings can move away from to cool down. If you are unsure or inexperienced with providing this heating it is a good idea to seek expert help and advice.
